Prior to coming to Sewanee in July 2016, I was a postdoctoral fellow in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from 2011-2016. At Vanderbilt I worked in the laboratory of Mark Denison, M.D. I received my Ph.D. in biochemistry in 2011 from the University of Kentucky Medical Center in the laboratory of Rebecca Dutch, Ph.D.  I'm a first-generation college student and am originally from rural Arkansas. I received my B.S. in chemistry from the University of Central Arkansas.
